Studio 216 Collaborates with Skanska USA on Microsoft HoloLens Project

Microsoft’s holographic headset, which was released to developers last week will be used for the “world’s first holographic real estate leasing center,” for a high-rise office project planned for Second Avenue and University Street in downtown Seattle.

Real estate development firm Skanska, in partnership with Microsoft and digital production agency Studio 216, is slated to open the sales center in summer 2016 and start construction on the project in 2019.

Studio 216 used Microsoft’s technology to create a guided holographic tour of the project, known as 2+U. Studio 216 is one of seven firms chosen to participate in the Microsoft HoloLens Agency Readiness Program.

“The HoloLens headset will transport users into an immersive first-person perspective—as if they were walking through the project—while allowing them to stay visually and emotionally connected to the representative in the leasing center,”
